Hi folks,
I'm living in Pittsboro NC and train at a kajukenbo school in Chapel Hill, but am spending part of the summer in Asheville. I'm looking for a second place to train in Asheville- preferably grappling-heavy. Our style at the kajukenbo school is quite mixed so there are a lot of things I could work on while I'm in Asheville (escrima, muy thai, jujitsu or judo or BJJ/wrestling/grappling would all be appropriate for my involvement with another school). The main thing keeping me from moving to Asheville fully is that I haven't found a school to be excited about yet. I'm hoping that there might be someone there who's training but doesn't run a school who might want to train together or can point me in the right direction. I'd also like to meet more women martial artists, and women who are counterculture types who train in martial arts here in NC.
So, is there anyone in either place who'd be interested in either having a women martial artists' social meetup, or maybe even do some training together in Asheville?
Incidentally, the school I'm in in Chapel Hill is a LOT of fun, it's relatively new (approx 2 years now) but folks are getting skilled fast and we have a few awesome women students (and a woman senior student/teacher): www.goldsmithkungfu.com.
