I am now a purple belt in Gaijin Ryu. YEA!!! My highlight of the test; I had to perform a judo throw on a guy that had to be at least 2 1/2 times my size. I actually pulled it off without the guy falling on my face!! LOL!! Someone was video taping. I'm going to have find out if I can get a copy. I don't believe it myself.

I hope everyone is having a great day!!! Even for a Monday.

I think the show you are talking about is Human Weapon. I've been following that show as well. I like hearing about the backgrounds and evolution of the different styles. I used to study a modified form of Kyokushkin Karate, so hearing about its close cousin Okinawin Karate was very interesting. I have also gained a better respect for some of the other styles, such as Savate and Judo.

The last one I saw was on Pankration. It looked so much liked Jiu Jitsu. Or should I say that Jiu Jitsu looks a lot like Pankration. In the show, they made mention that the ancient asians may have gotten much of their techniques from the ancient greeks. I suppose I wouldn't be surprised. Everything comes from somewhere. Discard what is useless, keep what is useful, add your own favor.
